ABOUT ABOUT

The Collin College String Ensemble was created in 2011 and has been an integral part serving the college community for many years. Consisting of violins, violas, cellos and basses, the ensemble performs music spanning from early Baroque to modern string literature. It features our Music Department’s music majors but is accessible to non-music majors and also is open to older string players wishing to continue their enjoyment of music making. There are always several performances every year and there is an opportunity for our best players to solo with the ensemble. Past performances have featured String Students playing concerti by Telemann, Vivaldi, Corelli, and Bach. The Collin String Ensemble remains "a pearl and belonging" of student life at Collin College.
